Michael VIII Palaeologus, 1261-1282. Trachy (Bronze, 20 mm, 1.27 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis. Nimbate and bearded bust of St. Nicholas facing, wearing drapery decorated with two crosses and holding book of Gospels with both hands. Rev. Michael VIII, standing facing, waring loros, holding cross in his right hand and akakia in his left. SB 2286. Part of the flan missing and with light deposits, otherwise, very fine.
